CEO’s Report
I am honored to present the Chief Executive Officer’s report for Empowering People in Communities (EPIC) Incorporated, summarizing our achievements and challenges for the year ending on June 30, 2023. This report is a testament to the dedication, resilience, and collective efforts that drive our organizations service to the Pilbara and Goldfields communities.
Our core mission to empower individuals and create an inclusive society remained at the heart of everything we did. Our vision of a world where every person, regardless of ability, can live a life of dignity and purpose, continued to guide our efforts.
In 2023, we continued to make a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals with disabilities. Through our diverse programs and initiatives, we reached over 6045 individuals, offering opportunities for growth, independence, and empowerment.
Our EPIC programs achieved significant milestones, including our disability services, inclusion, parenting, and jobs and skills programs. Our disability program offered support to over 300 people, enhancing their well-being. We opened the EpiCafe- Coffee with Care in March 2023 which has seen six new Baristas in the Goldfields, preparing them for the workforce.
Our strong financial management has been pivotal. In 2023, we maintained a robust and sustainable financial position, effectively managing resources despite inflationary pressures and additional regulatory costs. Every dollar was allocated efficiently to further our mission.
Our commitment to advocacy and raising awareness remained unwavering. In 2023, we actively engaged in campaigns and initiatives aimed at advancing the rights and inclusion of individuals with disabilities. Notable progress was achieved through partnerships with organizations like People with Disabilities to provide advocacy across the regions we serve.
Our ongoing efforts to educate and empower our community, starting with our dedicated EPIC staff, have been a priority. The introduction of the EPIC Leadership Development Framework supports our strategy to nurture leaders from within.
As we look forward to 2024, we are excited about the possibilities and challenges awaiting us. Our key priorities for the coming year include focusing on innovative technologies, fostering leadership growth, and executing infrastructure projects in the Goldfields. We invite you to join us in turning these ambitions into reality.
I want to extend my heartfelt appreciation to our dedicated staff, volunteers, board members, and partners. Your contributions of time, expertise, and resources have been the driving force behind our ongoing success.
