Client Services

Our unique footprint across all EPIC locations continue to offer our diverse cohort of NDIS participants with quality provision of funded supports to reach their goals. As a registered NDIS provider, EPIC benchmark high quality participant focused outcomes alongside NDIS practice standards.
Core support services delivered to people with a disability continue to reach across community and social activities, respite, independent living, leave of absence support and psychosocial supports. With a strength-based approach to leverage resources, EPIC service deliver can meet community gaps including employment programs, accommodation supports and inclusion activities.
EPIC have two fully accessible respite facilities based in the Pilbara with a ‘home away from home’ vibe for participants who may need time away from their families or to support participants and their carers by giving carers short breaks from their caring responsibilities. Respite is not just about accommodation; participants learn new skills, meet new people and participate in a range of activities to take a break from usual routines for short periods of time through NDIS funded respite support.
Community Engagement
Our dedicated teams continue to embed their knowledge and lived experience throughout the sector and build a supportive community approach through attendance of networks and events that engage and celebrate culture, diversity, mental health, carers, disability and much more. Hosting student placements across EPIC support local initiatives to boost the local care workforce and is a great steppingstone for some hands-on experience in the day of a life.
NDIS participant goals
Hydrotherapy and swimming is another activity our participants enjoy and what a great way to try different exercises while increasing muscle strength and encouraging movement.
Participants enjoyed what our community has to offer through driving lessons, art and even a trip to the movies for a special sensory movie screening. Just a few of the fantastic things our wonderful participants get to do daily.
Participants of all abilities are engaging in a variety of physical and therapy-based activities, both indoors and outdoors to maintain a healthy lifestyle and balance. Our wonderful support workers assist our participants to achieve their fitness and physical goals, whether it be in the gym lifting weights, working towards competing in a boxing tournament or enjoying the benefits of Pilates.
Both Franklin & Roger recently had a great day out on their individual rostered social and community supports.
Franklin spent his EPIC support time for to visit his extended family for some much-needed family time where they shared stories and enjoyed each other’s company. Franklin could not stop smiling and looks forward to another catchup soon with his family members.
EPIC continue to work with each participant to identify their informal support networks, whether it be family members, friends, service providers or a well-known person in their community such as a neighbour. Participants can use their informal support networks for advice, help thinking through a problem or receiving practical assistance for a task they cannot do on their own. A wide and growing network of informal supports is the key to keeping participants feeling safe and supported.
Roger used his support time away from Karlarra House to visit some of his extended family in town. Roger and his family spent time at the shops, sharing laughs and stories throughout the afternoon. These opportunities are vital in providing practical and emotional support for Roger to help him live his best life possible.
Ezra is one of these participants utilizing his funding to reach one of his goals being independent. Ezra has been working extra hard to complete his supported driving lessons in hopes of passing his driver’s licence.
Erin has returned to the pool. With some hesitancy, Erin had braved the water after being out of the pool for some months. Hydrotherapy is extremely important for Erin and her muscle function, and this is clear to see once she is in the pool. Erin is an amazing floater and can move her whole body while in the float position.
Having spent some time at Karlarra House aged care facility, Marianne’s goal was looking forward to a more independent living model in her own home, moving from her home in Karratha to a more suitable arrangement in Hedland where she has family and friends.
Everyone has worked tirelessly together to support Marianne’s goals and have managed to overcome many hurdles and setbacks. The dedication and passion of our staff, other service providers that support Marianne and her close networks are a great inspiration that anything is possible when you are willing to work together.
Marianne enjoyed making her famous damper recipe recently and wanted to share with others for an afternoon tea option that is close to her heart.
Tyleene has a newfound a passion for sewing gardening and craft after being involved in some inclusive programs aimed at developing participant skills. She comes to every class and is embracing every project, especially being able to take something home with her to display or give to her family members.
Getting to know different fabrics and what to use them for has also helped Tyleene get better equipped at using the sewing machine, threading it herself and running basic repairs. She knows how to recycle paper and make her own paper with flora from the bush and is really enjoying field trips to the bush and getting outdoors.
Tyleene now walks in with confidence and is coming forward with her own ideas on what to make and do with her time each week, she is become more talkative, researching her ideas & has feels she has a sense of belonging by developing friendships within the group. Tyleene is proud of her achievements & openly shows what she has made to other staff members through open conversations about music, family, and friends.
Inclusion
Inclusion is happening! A typical week at EPIC will see you meeting and greeting new staff and participants in our hub and office spaces to feel supported and connected across EPIC. A range of fun events are held regularly to offer a place to build your support network, have new experiences and have fun. Movie nights are a great way to come together and share a few laughs over popcorn. Art activities also help our participants to paint the world in which they live through cultural exploration, reflection and feeling.
